Mexico › Manos Vivas 2.0
Between August 2022 and June 2025, the Manos Vivas 2.0 project worked with 908 families across Chiapas, Yucatán, and Campeche to strengthen their economic, organizational, and productive capacities. The project implemented participatory methodologies, hands-on training, and technical assistance that directly supported families in savings, financial planning, and income generation. Activities included the formation and consolidation of 95 savings groups, training for 673 families in household budgeting, and capacity-building for microbusiness ventures, agribusinesses, and artisan enterprises to improve business sustainability.
In parallel, the project supported eight artisan enterprises by developing tailored sustainability plans and connecting them to markets, resulting in nearly 900 purchase orders worth more than USD $349,000 for 440 artisans. Training approaches were designed to be flexible and accessible, particularly for rural and Indigenous communities and for women with varying literacy levels. Together, these activities provided families and enterprises with the tools to strengthen their businesses, improve financial decision-making, and expand opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.
