Mexico › Crear y Crecer

Crear y Crecer is a two-year initiative that consolidates HANDMADE to MARKET’s work in Chiapas and the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico, while expanding economic opportunities for Indigenous communities. Funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the project supports 70 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and 95 savings groups, building on the progress of the 908 families supported over the past five years through previous projects, including Manos Vivas and Manos Vivas 2.0.

Across these regions, women artisans and coffee producers face persistent income poverty, limited access to markets, and systemic gender barriers that restrict education, financial inclusion, and economic growth.

Crear y Crecer focuses on strengthening locally led enterprises, increasing financial sustainability, generating employment, and expanding market access. Through workshops, training-of-trainers, and personalized coaching, the project supports sustainable income growth, strengthen women’s leadership, and build long-term economic resilience.
